Adaku Nwandu shows lots of gallantry and gusto in Heat 6 of Paris 2024 Olympic Women’s 50m Freestyle event held on Saturday morning.
The 16 year-old finished second in a time of 26.62s behind Elizaveta Pecherskikh who won the race in a time of 26.26s.
Unfortunately ,she could make it to the next round as her returned time was 0.36s short of the required mark, which ends here in the Paris 2024 Olympic journey.
Nwandu chose to represent Nigeria despite having the option of choosing China as she born by Chinese mother but fathered by Nigerian.
Subsequently, Swimming joins the growing list of events that returned no medal for Nigeria at the Olympics after her male counterparts Tobi Sijuade suffered similar fate on Wednesday in the 50m men Freestyle.
Nigeria have also crashed out of table tennis, football, boxing and badminton.
