President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the recent escalation of violent attacks across Nigeria and vowed that those responsible will face the full force of the law.

In a statement posted on his official X account on Wednesday, the President said the incidents were tragic and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to bolster national security and expedite the rescue of abducted children.

Kebbi School Abduction Sparks Nationwide Outrage

Armed attackers stormed the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, abducting around 25 female students during a pre-dawn raid. One school official was reportedly killed in the incident.

Authorities have launched a coordinated operation to locate and rescue the missing schoolgirls. Government sources confirm that at least one student has escaped, offering critical intelligence for security agencies tracking the kidnappers.

President Tinubu said the disruption of education by criminal elements was unacceptable and directed security agencies to “bring the schoolgirls back home without delay.”

Senior Military Officer and Soldiers Killed in Borno

President Tinubu also mourned Brigadier General Musa Uba and other soldiers killed while on active duty in Borno State. He expressed deep sorrow over their loss and prayed for comfort for the bereaved families.

According to security updates, the troops came under fire during counter-terrorism operations in the northeast, underscoring the continuing threat posed by extremist groups in the region.

Tinubu Orders Urgent Security Response

The President declared that he is fully aware of the recent uptick in attacks across the country and has ordered security forces to respond with “urgency, clarity, and decisive action.” He emphasised that local intelligence and community cooperation are vital to effective security operations.

“Sharing information can save lives and protect our children,” said President Tinubu.

He pledged that those who threaten the safety of citizens will be held accountable by the full weight of the Nigerian state.

Government Intensifies Search Efforts

Recent reports confirm that authorities are stepping up the search for the abducted schoolgirls in north-western Nigeria, with increased deployment and surveillance across Kebbi and neighbouring states.

Security analysts warn that the incident adds to a troubling pattern of kidnappings targeting schools in Nigeria’s northern regions, raising serious concerns among parents and education stakeholders.

National Security Remains Top Priority

The Presidency’s message comes amid growing public demand for tangible action to stop the repeated raiding of schools and prevent further losses of military personnel.

President Tinubu reassured Nigerians that operations will continue until peace is restored and vulnerable communities are secured.

“Those who threaten the safety of our citizens will face the full weight of the Nigerian state,” President Tinubu said.
