Leaders Tojemarine Academy returned to winning ways on Thursday beating Sunshine Kings 36-25 in the Ardova Handball Premier League in Lagos.

The leaders had lost to Safety Shooters 27-24 on Tuesday and were at their best against the Kings of Akure to inch closer to the title.

In other games, Lagos Seasiders defeated De Defenders 18-14 in a low-scoring game, Rima Strikers beat Correction Boys 41-25, while the tie between Benue Buffaloes and Kano Pillars ended 25 goals apiece.

In the women’s category, Safety Babes beat Bendel Dynamos 50-27. Safety Babes remain unbeaten and are coasting to another title.

Coach Innocent Nwankwo of Safety Babes, attributed his team’s performance to discipline, hard work, focus and the backing of the corp marshall.

He stated that his team had been able to conquer the Nigerian handball team and the next is to compete at the African club championship where they hope to rub shoulders with the best on the continent.

He called on corporate bodies to team up with the Safety Babes in their quest to bring laurel to the country.

He said, “I will attribute our performance to discipline, hard work, focus and the support of the corp marshall. We have conquered Nigeria and we want to move to Africa and do Nigeria proud.”
