(AA) – The round of 16 phase in Ziraat Turkish Cup ended on Thursday night with two Istanbulite clubs out of three advancing to the quarterfinal stage.Besiktas were stunned by lower division Kayserispor 1-0 on Wednesday.
The domestic cup games, played on Feb. 10, 11 and 12, saw Medicana Sivasspor, Mersin Idmanyurdu, Bursaspor, Kayserispor, Fenerbahce, Manisaspor, Genclerbirligi and reigning Turkish Cup champions Galatasaray qualify for the quarterfinals.
The Ziraat Turkish Cup quarterfinals will be played in a home and away knockout format. First legs will take place on March 3,4 and 5 while the second legs will kick off April 7,8 and 9.
Draws for the quarterfinals will be made next week.
