Nigerian boxer, Oluwafemi Oyeleye, is set to make his ring return on Saturday, February 17 against Colombian Wilfriedo Buelvas in Philadephia, Pennsylvania, USA, PRIMANEWS Sports Extra reports.
Oyeleye, who holds the WBC Intercontinental title, last fought in September 2023 against Jimmy Williams and secured a third-round knockout win over the American boxer in their super-welterweight bout.
With their eight-round bout coming up at the 2300 Arena in America where Oyeleye is based, his opponent, Buelvas holds a record of 24 victories with 18 knockouts while losing 18 fights.
Oyeleye remains unbeaten since turning professional winning all 14 of his bouts while eight have come through knockouts. The 29-year-old will be confident of a victory but must also be wary of the more experienced Colombian.
As an amateur, he won a gold medal in the men’s welterweight event at the 2015 African Games and then turned professional in 2016 claiming his Intercontinental title in 2019.
