BusinessValueJet aircraft skids off P’Harcourt runway

In a recent incident at Port Harcourt International Airport, a ValueJet aircraft encountered a slip on the taxi turn after safely landing and clearing off the runway Thursday.
The CRJ 900 Bombardier aircraft, registered as 5N-BXR, experienced the minor incident at approximately 3:30 PM local time, the operator said in a statement.
Passengers on board the aircraft were reportedly unaware of the incident, as the skilled flight crew managed the situation effectively, landing the plane securely without any damage.
Captain Stanley Balami, reporting on the incident, stated that the slip occurred due to algae on the taxiway, leading to a deviation from the centerline during the taxi turn.
Despite the momentary incident, ValueJet emphasizes that the safety of passengers and crew remains a top priority.
The airline reassures the public that all operations continue to run normally, underscoring its commitment to maintaining a safe and reliable travel experience.
ValueJet is collaborating with relevant authorities to investigate the incident thoroughly and address any necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
