HAMAS commander and October 7 mastermind Marwan Issa has been killed in an Israeli airstrike.

One of Yahya Sinwar’s chief henchmen, Issa was number three on the IDF’s most-wanted list following the horrors of Hamas’ massacre in Israel which killed 1,200 people.

He was killed on March 10 during an operation in the Gaza Strip, IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari confirmed today.

Issa was the deputy commander of Hamas’ military wing, and died alongside another top terror chief – Ghazi Abu Tamaa.

The terror boss reported directly to Sinwar, the monster dubbed “The Hamas Bin Laden” who masterminded the October massacre in Israel.

Nicknamed the “shadow man”, Issa was number three on Israel’s most-wanted list, alongside Mohammed Deif and Sinwar.

A source from inside the terror group previously told Primanews: “Brother Issa is the walking nightmare of the enemy.”

Israeli forces are still hunting his fellow terror chiefs, despite some reports Deif was killed in an earlier strike.

Issa, Sinwar and Deif reportedly formed a secret three-way council inside Hamas and planned the gruesome attack on Israel’s border.

The three of them are believed to have directed military operations from the tunnels running through Gaza and its backstreets ever since.

Deif has been one of the IDF’s most-wanted men for decades and has dodged over a dozen assassination attempts and countless strikes from Israel over the years.

Hagari said today: “We have checked all the intelligence.

“Marwan Issa was eliminated in the strike we carried out around two weeks ago.”

Issa died during a strike in Nuseirat, a refugee camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip where he was hiding.

The US announced his death days ago, but Israel has just verified the information.

As Israel continues its campaign to round up and eliminate the remaining Hamas masterminds, Yahya Sinwar has reportedly dropped off the radar even inside his own terror cell.

The IDF has vowed to catch him “dead or alive”.

And Israel’s military chiefs have vowed their offensive must not end until the terror boss is dead.

But defence minister Yoav Gallant claimed Hamas is now frantically looking for a replacement for Sinwar, who is said to have been uncontactable for weeks.

He said the terror cell which once reigned over innocent Palestinians in the Strip is now fighting for control.

“Hamas’ Gaza operation is unresponsive, without local leadership for dialogue, prompting external leaders to seek a new internal head”.

He added: “Hamas does not trust its commanders, this is a very, very noticeable thing.”

The October attack saw Hamas terrorists storm Israel’s border early in the morning, slaughtering at least 1,200 people and kidnapping more.

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s government vowed to kill Sinwar, Hamas’ leader in Gaza, Deif, head of the military wing and Issa, his deputy after the atrocities.

After launching a ground operation into Gaza in October, the IDF has blitzed buildings, hospitals and refugee camps where they believe Hamas members are hiding.

They’ve uncovered and destroyed miles of the terror group’s tunnels which run underneath the war-torn strip in the process.

And they’ve taken out several other high profile Hamas commanders, including Wissam Farhat in December last year.
