Popular actress, Mimi Orijiekwe, recently laid her father to rest, and she says that has always been her fear.
Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, the grieving role interpreter, “Losing someone dear to one hurts. It is hard and sad. But, one will have to endure the pain. Losing my father has been my greatest fear. I thought of it years ago, and it happened. But, it is part of life. We pray to bury our parents, not the other way round.”
Advising people dealing with the loss of a loved one, she said, “Just pray to God to give you the strength to go through it, and you will be fine.”
Asked about the lessons she learnt from her late father, Orijiekwe said, “My father was someone who believed in hard work. He was a goal getter and achiever. He believed things could be done if one was determined. He was a man who believed in following due process. He always told us to take things easy. He used to tell me when I was younger not to be in a hurry, that things would eventually fall in place. I believe in taking things easy in my life, career and business. My late dad passed generosity to us. If I have, then the next person in need must have. If I am not lacking , the people close to me are not going to lack. Through my foundation, I will like to create a legacy of generosity.”
