The Premier League, renowned as the world’s richest and most prestigious football competition, continues to be a breeding ground for some of the finest talents across all age groups.
Transfermarkt on Monday noted that with a staggering total market value of €11.09 billion, the English top-flight is a true powerhouse, leaving other leagues in its wake.
From teenage prodigies to players in their prime and experienced veterans, the Premier League boasts an array of some of the most valuable players in football, each contributing to the league’s unparalleled allure.
“The English top flight seemingly has it all. From teenage sensations to the very best player in their prime, to the older heads using their children’s experience to guide their teams to glory,” Transfermarkt said.
PRIMANEWS Online highlights some of the EPL’s most valuable players.
According to data compiled by Transfermarkt, the most valuable player born in 1988 is Fulham’s Brazilian veteran Willian, valued at €3 million. “The 35-year-old has played nine seasons in the Premier League and remains a vital part of Marco Silva’s team,” the report stated.
The list grows over time, eventually resembling a who’s who of Premier League greats. Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, born in 1991 and valued at a staggering €60 million, is considered by many as “the greatest ever Premier League midfielder.”
Liverpool’s Egyptian talisman, Mohamed Salah, born in 1992, boasts a market value of €65 million and has registered an impressive 26 direct goal involvements in the Premier League this season.
However, it is the younger generation that truly showcases the Premier League’s ability to nurture and develop talent. Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, born in 2000, stands as the most valuable player in the entire league and the joint most valuable player in the world, with a staggering market value of €180 million.
Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, born in 2001 and valued at €130 million, is affectionately known as the ‘star boy,’ while Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, born in 2005 and already worth €35 million at just 18 years of age, represents the future of English football.
The Premier League has immense promise, as seen by players like Declan Rice, valued at €110 million, Rodri at €110 million, Jack Grealish, valued at €65 million, Declan Silva, valued at €80 million, Josko Gvardiol, worth €75 million, and Martin Ødegaard, the captain of Arsenal, valued at €95 million, among others.
Perhaps the most remarkable entry on the list is Nigerian descent and Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri, who became the youngest-ever Premier League player last season at the age of 15. Despite his tender age, Nwaneri is already valued at €8 million, a testament to the league’s ability to identify and nurture prodigious talent.
