Prince Harry was back in the saddle on Sunday, competing in a charity polo match in England after spending nearly five weeks abroad.

Harry, 30, competed for the The Jerudong Trophy at the Cirencester Park Polo Club in Gloucester, England.

The prince looked handsome in a green polo emblazoned with the number 1, and appeared to be a fierce competitor. However, no princely skills could help his team and they ended up losing 8 to 7.

The match benefitted two charities for which Harry is a patron – WellChildwhich aids families of sick children, and MapAction, which works in disaster zones to provide real-time information on where relief help is needed.

The third benefitting charity, Centrepoint, which Prince William backs, provides safe living environments for homeless children.

Earlier this weekend, Harry finally met his niece Princess Charlotte, traveling to William and Princess Kate’s country home Anmer Hall to greet the new princess, a royal source confirmed to PEOPLE.

Hopefully the prince didn’t greet Charlotte empty handed, bringing some of the “cuddly toys” he was gifted for the princess by fans and well-wishers during his eight-day tour of New Zealand earlier in May.

Harry had to miss Charlotte’s birth on May 2 as he was on a four-week secondment to the Australian Defense Force.
