Director General of the Sudanese News Agency (SUNA), Muhammad Abdel-Hamid Abdel-Rahman, hailed Anadolu Agency as “a reliable” source of news in Sudan on Thursday.

Turkey’s Ambassador to Sudan, Irfan Neziroglu, visited SUNA in Khartoum and was accompanied by journalists and employees of the Turkish news agency, who were received by Abdel-Rahman, and Editor-in-Chief Fikria Abayezid.

The two sides discussed ways to cooperate and Neziroglu said Turkey is ready to support the Sudanese agency in various fields.

Abdul-Rahman said Anadolu Agency is a deeply rooted agency that celebrated its centenary last year.

“We are closely following the great development of Anadolu Agency in recent years,” he said.

Abdul-Rahman said he was pleased at Anadolu Agency’s wide coverage of developments throughout Sudan. “Even Anadolu Agency sometimes publishes Sudanese developments faster than us,” he said.

And he affirmed SUNA’s readiness to cooperate with Anadolu Agency, expressing his desire to benefit from the Turkish agency’s experience.

“We are waiting for support in the fields of training press cadres and exchanging experiences,” he added.

Anadolu Agency was established April 6, 1920 by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, to tell the world about the Turkish national struggle for independence.
