UD Tenerife forward Rinsola Babajide is basking in the euphoria of helping her end a run of eight games without a win after scoring one and providing three assists in their 5-0 win over Sevilla in the Spanish women’s league on Saturday.
It was also Babajide’s third goal in 21 league appearances for Tenerife this season.
“Yesterday (Saturday) was a celebration #RB7,” Babajide posted via X on Sunday.
Babajide got the first of her assists in the second minute when she set up Thais Ferreira for the first goal in the second minute.
In the 24th minute, Babajide then made it 2-0 for the home team.
She got her second assist in the 39th minute to help her team go 3-0 up. Then in the 48th minute, she got her third assist for Tenerife’s fifth goal.
The 25-year-old’s Nigerian teammate Gift Monday was introduced in the 78th minute. Also in action in the game for Sevilla was Toni Payne, who came on in the 46th minute.
Going into the game against Sevilla, Tenerife had not won in eight straight games (eight defeats, eight draws).
