A POLICE officer has been charged with two counts of murder after a TV presenter and his boyfriend disappeared in Sydney under suspicious circumstances.

Beau Lamarre, 28, handed himself in to cops shortly after 10.30am on Friday – two days after the belongings of missing Jesse Baird, 26, and Luke Davies, 29, were found in a skip bin.

The New South Wales Police officer and ex-celebrity blogger allegedly used his service weapon while on-duty to kill Baird and his Qantas flight attendant boyfriend before disposing of their bodies.

The men’s bodies have still not been found.

“Charges have been submitted for two counts of murder,” Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty told reporters on Friday.

“He will be formally refused bail by police and expected to face court at some stage, whether it is today or tomorrow.”

According to cops, Mr Lamarre used his NSW Police gun to kill the two men at Baird’s home in Sydney on Monday night before dumping their bodies in a white rental van for disposal.

Detective Doherty told reporters Mr Lamarre was on-duty at the time but called into work sick on Tuesday.

“Through the evidence that’s been located to date, both the items in the skip bin that had blood on them and certain identification and other items and through the examination of the crime scene at Paddington, where a large amount of blood was located, police also located a projectile at the premises which had been discharged and also a fired cartridge case,” Doherty said.

A spokeswoman previously confirmed to The Sun that a 29-year-old man turned himself in on Friday morning. Officers have since, however, said the man was 28.

New South Wales (NSW) Police said in a statement earlier: “As part of investigations into the disappearance of two men in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, a 29-year-old man presented to Bondi Police Station shortly after 10.30am today (Friday 23 February 2024).

“The man will be transferred to Waverley Police station where investigations will continue.”

It comes after officers searched a home in the Balmain area of Sydney on Thursday night and seized a number of items.

The last time Baird and Davies were seen was on Monday in Paddington, cops said.

Police feared there had “been some sort of incident” after they found blood-covered clothes belonging to Davies and Baird in a skip bin on Wednesday morning.

It was unclear who the blood belonged to, but cops said the amount suggested at least one of the men experienced a “significant injury”.

Neighbours reportedly heard an argument coming from Baird’s home on Monday but did not report it until the police arrived on Wednesday.
